Noise Analysis of the Large-scale Fiber Optic Gyroscope for Measuring the UT1

  • The large-scale Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) can measure the Earth rotation rate accurately. It can be used to calculate the UT1 parameters. However, the noises of the FOG will affect measurement accuracy and stability. We can analyze the noises of the FOG in output data by Allan variance. At the same time, we analyze the power spectral density (PSD) of the measurement data, which can be used for analyzing the high frequency vibration existed in the measurement data. According to the analysis results, we provide improvement measures on the data processing method. In this paper, the analysis results can provide a reference for improving the large-scale FOG and establishing the data processing method in future.
